36. Giving References on Former or Current Employees of the City of Hillsboro

PURPOSE

To avoid possible litigation.

POLICY

If someone asks for a reference on a former or current employee of the City of Hillsboro, the mayor, council members, supervisor or department head are to direct the request to the city administrator. The city administrator may only report the dates of employment for the employee or former employee in question.
