79. Procedures replacing utility service connections when the connection does not meet property owner requirements
To establish a policy that guides the city council and staff on procedures to replace utility service lines.
· A service line (water, sewer or electric) needs replaced when the size or capacity of the utility service line no longer meets the requirements of the use at that address.
· If the utility service line is found insufficient due to any work by performed or planned by the property owner or occupant, then the replacement will be at the property owner or .occupant’s expense. A review of building permits for the prior 18 months may be used to determine responsibility.
· Replacement that is necessary due to an act of nature or other non construction form of damage will be at city expense.
