Through the City’s strategic planning process housing has been identified as a priority goal critical to the future growth of Hillsboro. In order to facilitate the needed housing for the community the city will forego collecting the certain development fees until which time the City Council deems that the housing needs in the community are sufficiently met.

Until otherwise acted on by majority vote of the City Council, City staff are hereby directed to cease collecting the following fees related to new residential housing unit construction or redevelopment of property not currently being used as housing.

•      Building permits and inspection fees

•      Utility meter, tap, or system connection fees

•      Fees associated any necessary application to the planning commission or board of zoning appeals
