PURPOSE

Establishes policy and procedures regarding the purchase and replacement of uniforms and equipment for the police and utility departments.

POLICY – POLICE DEPARTMENT

The City of Hillsboro will issue the following articles to each police officer upon employment:

4 summer shirts

4 winter shirts

4 trousers

1 all-weather jacket

2 neckties

1 helmet

1 pair of gloves

1 badge

1 raincoat

1 whistle & chain

1 pair of handcuffs

1 nameplate

Replacements on the above articles will be issued as the items are worn out and turned in to the Chief of Police. Police officers will be required to purchase their own footwear. which must be black.

The City of Hillsboro will issue the following to reserve officers upon employment:

2 summer shirts

2 winter shirts

2 trousers

1 all-weather jacket

1 necktie

1 badge

Replacements on the above articles will be issued as the items are worn out and turned in to the Chief of Police. Reserve officers will be required to purchase their own footwear. which must be black.

POLICY – STREET, ELECTRIC, WATER, SEWER AND REFUSE DEPARTMENTS

The City of Hillsboro will issue the following articles to each employee of the above departments upon employment:

1 pair of leather gloves

1 pair of rubber boots

1 rain suit

Replacement on the above articles will be issued as the items are worn out and turned in to the City Superintendent.
