The City of Hillsboro is under contract with Blue Cross/Blue Shield Blue Select for health insurance coverage for the employees of the City of Hillsboro. The purpose of this policy is to specify how the cost of this coverage is to be shared by the City and by the employee.
The City of Hillsboro pays all of the single coverage and 50% of any additional coverage that the employee is eligible for - i.e.: Employee Spouse, Employee Children or Family Coverage.
The employee’s portion will be deducted at one-half of the amount due per pay period on the first and second pay periods each month. The City also offers a cafeteria plan that the employee may choose to cover their health insurance costs that are deducted.
