APPENDIX E – MUNICIPAL POLICIESAPPENDIX E – MUNICIPAL POLICIES\101. Dumpster Policy

RULES AND REGULATIONS

The City Council hereby establishes rules and regulations for the use of rental dumpsters.

1.    Dumpster rentals have a 2-week time limit from date of delivery. Customers will be given a pickup date when rental is reserved. The pickup date can be extended once by the user for an additional 2-week period.

2.    Each dumpster rental will be charged the delivery fee and a minimum of one dump regardless of how full the dumpster is at pickup. Customers that have a 2-week extension will be charged for one dump for the renewal period but will not be charged a second delivery fee.

3.    Dumpster renters are required to call in for dumpster to be dumped when it is full. A full dumpster is level with the top of dumpster. For safety of staff, equipment, and customers, no items can be sticking out beyond the top of the dumpster; larger items must be cut down. City staff will determine if a dumpster is overfilled and unsafe to dump. Renters will be notified that the dumpster cannot be dumped and given direction how to meet the dumping requirements.

4.    Dumpster will be delivered to the street in front of the residence or business and picked up at the street. If a renter chooses to move the dumpster, it is the renter’s responsibility to get the dumpster back to the street.

5.    The City reserves the right to deny dumpster rental based on availability of dumpsters. Residents not in good standing with city utility bills may be denied dumpster rental.
