The following policy shall govern the use of cell phones by the employees and that an allowance is paid employees for city use of personal cell phones.
1. As of March 2010, cell phones provided by the city for employees will be moved to their personal cell account to provide for communicating on city business. The City Administrator shall determine if an employee is eligible for reimbursement under this policy.
2. The City of Hillsboro will provide an allowance for cell phone expenses for various city personnel. It shall be $20.00 per month. Should a data plan be necessary, the allowance shall be $40.00 per month.
3. A onetime allowance of $130.00 will be paid on the anniversary of the current contract during FY 2010.
4. These allowances and stipends will be in effect until modified by resolution of the Governing Body.
